Have a look and see for yourself all the fabulous things happening in South Abbey.

Laochra Beaga Senior Fun

Did you know that in South Abbey, not only do we have a large tarmac play area and massive green space but we also have a lovely enclosed yard at the side of the school. Ms Eaton's class are doing a great job of showcasing it here. Wouldn't we all love to be in this class. Look at all the hard work and fun they are getting through.

Science Week

The junior infants in Ms Heskin's class are having a ball doing science experiments for science week. Rain cloud in a jar, dancing raisins, sorting, classifying and counting shapes. Our future scientists all received science achievement awards. Well done all. We love hands on activities in South Abbey!

3rd and 4th Class Halloween
Display.

The children in third and fourth class have
been working hard to make a spooky
atmosphere. Have a look.

Halloween fun in Junior
Infants and Laochra Beaga.

The children were given the option of dressing up in different costumes for some Halloween fun at South Abbey.

Spooky Halloween Art

Ms Murphy's students have been working very hard to embrace the Halloween atmosphere. Look at these incredible bat silhouettes. Well done senior infants and first class. Such great work.

Firefighters visit South Abbey

As you can see the South Abbey children had an incredible morning with the local fire service. We learned so much and showed off all we've been learning about being fire safe.

Kandinsky 3rd and 4th Class

The children were inspired by the work of artist Wasily Kandinski in third and fourth class. Their creative juices were flowing to create these gorgeous pieces. We love creativity and self expression in South Abbey.

Cinema Visit

The school embraced its close proximity to the town of Youghal by visiting the regal cinema for an early Christmas treat. The children were delighted to go and see a host of different Christmas movies with their friends. A great way to take a break from all the hard work they are doing in school. What a great day out.

Group Work

We pride ourselves on our high teacher to
student ratio. The children in Mrs Eaton's motor skills groups are working hard on a range of different
activities to help them develop their motor skills.

Lighthouse Art

The children in Mr English's class are an artistic bunch. They made lovely watercolour lighthouses in art class today. Well done to all.

Displays

Have a look below at some of the lovely art displays from around the school.

BORN TO RUN!

South Abbey not only boasts a large grass area but a large tarmac playground that can be used all year round. We have
so much space up here. We are so blessed.

Green with Envy

Our massive green space is thoroughly enjoyed by all the children for fun and games. For a town school we have an amazing amount of space with two well spaced tarmacadam yards, a sensory garden and the massive green space below.

Pumpkin Carving

The children in fifth and sixth class had a ball carving pumpkins and dressing up in scary attire for Halloween.
